Discussion

Raising monies for both O.N.E. & Eaglettes to ensure incentives and scholarships can be provided for 2007/2008. Get more parents/volunteers involved with committees.

  • Valentine Flower project is a go. Flowers will be purchased from Costco and sell will be the week of Valentine’s Day. School is out on Feb. 14 th and this has been noted – P. May to head this committee
  • Beautification date change to 10/14, 1p-4p approved by committee; school admin. Approval still needed – Sara will get admin approval. Meal added incentive for girls. Parents will be asked to provide food for chili dog meal. Per P. May we may be able to plant bulbs and ONHS may pay for them.
  • Gift wrapping and drop/shop (baby sitting) still on table. Per Leslie will take a lot of folks/volunteer hours – tabled at this time
  • Magazine online project up and running – need to market effectively to ensure mass participation
  • In efforts to increase funding, decrease costs, competition gifts will be eliminated; committee/Sara approved
  • Last year, clothing drive was huge success, per Sara this project no longer available; open for alternative with purse sale – Christine to follow up
  • Purchase 250 large/250 small envelopes for Beautification Day letter – Committee approved purchase; L Hrabik to complete.
  • 250 Labels for small envelopes; read as follows: Olathe North High School 600 E Prairie St Attn: Ms. Sara Evans Olathe KS 66061 – Diana volunteer to type up labels; girls will personally address minimum of 10 envelope to mail out to family/friends; per Sara extra credit provided to any girl that exceeds 10. Per P. May, ONHS may be able to pay for postage
  • Parent shirt order (t-shirt, long sleeve, sweat shirt, and/or hoodies) – per Sara cost more due to non tax-exempt. Need to collect orders/more orders less cost

Conclusions

More parent participation & attendance is needed. Committee decided on more effective method of communication (phone chain) in hopes of reaching out to more parents. Our goal is to resolve possible misunderstanding of parent meeting. Meeting is not designed just for elected officers, but for all parents. We got a lot covered tonight, partly as a result of more parent attendance.

    • Committee decided to go for the entire $24,000; included 20 team members, 1 manager, & 3 coaches

  • Fundraising priority goes to Nationals than ONE Fanclub.

  • Ms. Evans, nor any party of the ONE Fanclub will be a part of the decision making process
  • The following fund raiser were discussed and approved:

a.        Selling Honeybaked hams for Thanksgiving (see attached). We receive 15% of all orders, including gift certificates and any orders that employers may place through us for their employees.

b.        Solicit area businesses to support scholarship (this would be a $500 scholarship, approximately ½ of her trip). In return, the business would get a letter of thanks, a picture of the team, and tickets to the spring show (number to be determined depending on how many scholarships we are needing…. perhaps we can also work in a bonus of reserved seating), and recognition in the spring show program. A letter will be provided at the parent meeting that is to be utilized. It requests the business support a scholarship. This will be done in a professional manner, meaning they will dress up, making an appointment with a business manager of such, etc.

  • Tote Bags

  • The Great Mall Magical Day of Giving tickets
