EAGLETTE ALUMNI

1997-2000

ERIN CUTSHALL
1997-2000

I graduated from Kansas University last May with my B.A. in Speech-Language-Hearing and I am currently going to graduate school at both the Kansas University Medical Center and the Lawrence campus for either my masters or Au.D. in Audiology.  I also teach dance classes at Legacy School of the Arts in Olathe, KS.  I was on the Eaglettes for all three years of high school, and during that time I was an officer my junior year and Co-Captain my senior year.

There are so many good memories that I have from my experience on the Eaglettes . . . the trip to Florida/Disney World, the standing-O we got when we would take the Olathe East gym floor at Kansas Spectacular, Spring Shows (favorites were "Top Gun" and "Bye Bye Birdie!"), when we won Nationals in Texas my senior year and winning with my solo routine there the last time I competed with it, feeling like we were  floating while we performed "River Deep, Mountain High"--(what a powerful routine!), getting to perform the duet, "You Can Leave Your Hat On," with my best buddy, making friends with all the wonderful girls on the team, Pep Assemblies, Eagle football state-championships, performing the Swing Routine at camp and Nationals, and just being totally silly and laughing constantly with my girls! . . . but the one memory that will always stick with me from the Eaglettes is THE FEELING we got when we performed.  There is nothing else like it in the world!  No matter where I danced after that, even in college,  THE FEELING  from the Eaglette days remains unique.  It's a one-of-a-kind feeling I will always treasure!  AND, I can say that all my favorite memories about the Eaglettes are also what I miss the most.  There was something really special about our teams.  We worked so hard, but we got so much out of our "blood, sweat, and tears!"  I miss all the girls and hope everyone is doing well!  :)

JENI STREB
1997-2000

I'm currently STILL in school, yes I know, I'm a big loser.  I graduated with my undergrad in Computer Engineering from KU last May (2004).  Now I'm working on my Masters in Computer Science also at KU.  I'm hoping to be done in May of 2006.  I'm also doing research at KU.  Right now I'm working on flow analysis and abstract interpretation of functional languages (doesn't sound very interesting - I know).  I've written my own programming language for representing dance choreography and although it isn't anywhere near done you can check it out at http://www.ittc.ku.edu/~jenis/

My favorite Eaglette memory has to be the night of spring show practice when Mrs. Moomau was getting mad at us for not being able to do some lift for our finale.  We couldn't get it right, and she got so frustrated with us, she decided to show us herself how easy it was.  She grabbed a guy and told him to lift her up, which he did, just as her pants fell off.  I've never laughed so hard in my life.  Of course there are millions of other memories, but I doubt Sara wants me taking up her whole website.

The thing I miss most about Eaglettes is the stuff that would happen after practices or after meetings.  When we were all just goofing off and being silly.  I think those were the best times.

NATALIE VICK
1997-2000

I recently graduated from KU and I am now working at Alternative Business Systems as a sales representative. I also just finished my 3rd year as a Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleader. I teach at Jody Phillips Dance Company located in Overland Park.

I think that that there are a couple things that I miss most about the Eaglettes. I also miss "the feeling." The feeling we got when we walk onto the floor and eveyrone was yelling and cheering for us. Some of my favorite routines were our Beastie Boy pom, the Swing routine with all of the boys, and our Rock 'n Roll pom among many others. I also miss the girls. I loved the trip to Orlando and Nationals in Texas. I made some of the best memories while being on Eaglettes.
