EAGLETTE ALUMNI

SARA EVANS
1996-1999
Eaglette Director
I recently graduated from Kansas State University and am currently teaching Family and Consumer Science at Santa Fe Junior High School. I am teaching dance at Kansas City Dance Expressions and am now the director of my old team, the Olathe North Eaglettes :) I was on the Eaglettes all three of my high school years and was captain for two.
I don't think I could pick just one favorite memory from my years on Eaglettes. From our trip to Orlando my senior year, receiving a standing ovation after performing Novelty at Kansas Spectacular, the first time we got "the feeling" for River Deep, doing a duet with my best friend, winning the solo competition at Starmakers, I loved every minute of it!!
I am so lucky because I have been blessed to be a part of the Eaglettes again. I love coaching the Eaglettes! It is a dream come true! There are two things that I miss most... 1) The people - Some of my very best friends were from Eaglettes and I miss seeing them everyday. 2) The performing - There is just something about "that feeling"! You can't find it anywhere but on the dance floor!

LISA CLAUDEL
1996-1999
Eaglette Assistant Director
You already have my years up so...I graduated from Kansas State University in May 2003 with my Bachelor of Science in Social Work. I am currently working as an Adoption Social Worker at Kansas Children's Service League. I work with children who's biological parents parental rights have been terminated, and I act as their technical legal guardian, until I find them an adoptive home. I travel all over the state of Kansas visiting the children I work with in foster homes and different facilities, I go to court, go to IEP meetings, do a lot of paperwork, and generally enjoy my job. It is fairly stressful, but never a dull moment, which I like. I have also, since November, taken on the role as Assistant Director of the Eaglettes, which I love!! I really enjoy the girls, and love getting to see Sara on a regular basis!!
I was on the Eaglettes all three years of high school and was captain for two!! I have SO many memories from days as an Eaglette. I love all of them, and keep them close to my heart, along with all of you girls! I LOVED being an officer, I LOVED competition, I LOVED Spring Show, I LOVED basketball performances, I LOVED all of the after hours stuff. I can't say enough good things about those days. I don't know if I can pick just one memory...One of my favorite memories was the day I made the Eaglettes. I don't remember wanting anything that bad before that day. I opened that letter, read it and ran across the floor, dove into my dad's lap, and Bre soon followed. We rolled around on the floor and screamed!! It was the most wonderful feeling!! Also, senior year at nationals, dancing to, "River Deep, Mountain High," when "the feeling" was almost overwhelming!! I made some of my best friends those years, and wish you all well.
I think I miss seeing everyone, every day, the most. We worked so hard, and I don't regret a minute of it. We had long days and sore muscles, but the pay off in the end was well worth it, and that truly is the good stuff!! I wish you all well, and I hope you have much joy, everyday.

BREANNE PAUL
1996-1999
Well, I have since graduated from Kansas State University in May of 2003 with my B.S. in Nutritional Sciences. I am currently in my second year of Optometry school at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. I believe I want to specialize in Pediatric Optometry but that is still to be decided upon. We are all kinda dorky up in Chicago with our gatherings called the "Blindspots" and our prom called the "Eyeball." All in all I love school, the studying stuff is OK... but the clinical side is what I love. This May I will start seeing my first patients, which is a little overwelming yet very exciting. Our clinic is located in the heart of downtown Chicago, so I will see the most diseases in my first two years. I currently live in Licoln Park with two fellow optometry students. I love the atmosphere of Chicago, however I do miss the wholesomeness of Kansas.
Not much dancing for me these days unless you count the occasional Yoga and Pilates classes. I miss dancing so much... but it just seems time is a big factor for me right now. I have taken up running quite a bit. One of my most favorite things to do is run alongside Lake Michigan. Last Fall I even ran the Half Marathon!! I am still working toward the full Marathon!!
The pressure of a memory....there are so many that I love from being an Eaglette . . . we were truly all a FAMILY for three years!! But, here are just a few.. Try-outs with a sprained ankle, the "mystery-meat sandwich," the harry-back brush, Lisa painting with the French man in Disney world, Mrs. Moomau peeing her pants when we won state Sr. year, going to get Taco Bell all the time, iniitiation at my house, OK we have all said it but "River deep, Mountain high," our senior routine, Trisha and I with our socks pulled high, Spring show (Angel group), of course "Thriller," Erin and my "special time" before solos, going to Nationals, wearing red lipstick, getting ready in the mornings and always being late to second hour, pep assemblies, hip-hop routine, those lovely red-mesh field show costumes, our officer group, and the "feeling." Sometimes I wonder if any other team has experienced what we all have. I think that we all truly understood each other, and when dancing we danced as one. I don't think I have ever experienced anything quite like that since our time as an Eaglette. No one else knows what goes into being an Eaglette. I am so grateful I got to be apart of such a wonderful group. I will treasure our memories always!
