Ensure that all students, and most especially the least served students in the middle capable of completing a college path will:
-Succeed in rigorous curriculum
-Enter mainstream activities of school
-Increase enrollment in 2-year and 4-year colleges
-Become a educated and responsible participants and leaders

• AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination.
• It is an in-school academic support program for students in grades 4-12.
• It prepares students for college eligibility and success.
• Places academically average students in advanced classes.
• Levels the playing field for minority, rural, low income and other students without a college-going tradition in their families.
• It is for all students, but it targets those who are in the academic middle.
• It is implemented schoolwide and district-wide.
