Besel Update

September 14th, 2009

Dear Parents and Students,

Fast Facts went home in the backpacks yesterday. Please have your child complete the packet by Friday. There’s a page for every day of the week (Mon.-Thurs.). Hopefully, this packet acts as a review and can quicken up some addition and subtraction (alternating weeks) skills. My hope is that this packet takes a short amount of time in order to still read daily and practice spelling (at least 3 times a week). Please check over some of the problems just to make sure your child is completing them accurately and not working too fast.

Thank you, thank you, Parents, for checking the agendas and purple folders on a daily basis! I appreciate your effort and time to sign the agenda,  check for homework, and clean it out. You are awesome!!  I am currently working on a classroom website and will let you know when it is complete!

We have been doing somewhat better on our talking in the classroom, but are still working on it!  Please check your child’s agenda for their “color” of the day.  Green means they did not pull any cards, yellow means they did pull one after a couple of warnings and red means their day wasn’t so great.  L  We will start writing our color level on Tuesday in our agendas.

Canned Food Drive is still going on until Friday!  Don’t forget to bring a can of food for the food drive!  Thank you so much to everyone that has brought canned food.  We are one of the leaders in teh school.  Keep it going!

Reading Minutes:  Is everyone recording their reading minutes EVERY night in their reading logs!?  I hope so, I would love for our class to be the TOP class of 2nd grade for reading minutes!  Let me know if you need a new log.

Snacks:  We are out of classroom snacks!  If your child forgets their snack, they will not have a snack for the day!  Please help them remember each morning.  Thank you.
